Arabic poetry, explained in English

Wazn is a reading library of classical and modern Arabic poetry. Each poem here has its own page: the Arabic text bayt by bayt, and — for most of them — the story of the occasion it was written for, in English, taken from a named source and linked back to it. Some also carry an English rendering of every line and a plain-language summary, written for readers with no background in Arabic poetry.
