كُلِّفتَ يا قَلبي هَوىً مُتعِباًغالَبتَ مِنهُ الضَيغَمَ الأَغلَبا
إِنّي تَعَلَّقتُ مَجوسِيَّةًتَأبى لِشَمسِ الحُسنِ أَن تَغرُبا
أَقصى بِلادِ اللَهِ في حَيثُ لايُلفي إِلَيهِ ذاهِبٌ مَذهَبا
يا تودُ يا رودَ الشَبابِ الَّتيتُطلِعُ مِن أَزرارِها الكَوكِبا
يا بِأَبي الشَخصُ الَّذي لا أَرىأَحلى عَلى قَلبي وَلا أَعذَبا
ن قُلتُ يَوماً إِنَّ عَيني رَأَتمُشبِهَهُ لَم أَعدُ أَن أَكذِبا
قالَت أَرى فَودَيهِ قَد نَوَّرادُعابَةٌ توجِبُ أَن أَدعَبا
قُلتُ لَها ما بالُهُ إِنَّهُقَد يُنتجُ المُهرُ كَذا أَشهَبا
فَاِستَضحَكَت عُجباً بِقَولي لَهاوَإِنَّما قُلتُ لِكي تَعجَبا
